A life with Cats

So, if you want to know who I am, I just made a video for YouTube. I did this on the spot and forgot to wear my dentures. But at my age, it doesn't matter anymore. I just look like another old man to many young uns.

But this my new life since COvid started.

1. Ah yes, the Feline Factor of COVID is often underestimated

Last fall we rescued two kittens from our local feral/stray community; Pepper showed up on our backsteps as just a wee tiny thing of 4 weeks, whereas Twyla was a bit older and scrounging in the back alley. The plan was to habituate them to humans, neuter them, then find a Forever home for them because we already had four cats and two dogs. The inn was full.

But... I'd been working from home since March of last year, and the days just seemed to meld together in a long monotonous cloud that numbed my brain. Then came the kittens, and they were such a joy. Every day was filled new adventures for them, from exploring the house to their first snow, and I couldn't bear to give them up. Fortunately, my wife agreed to humor me, despite the earlier pledge we'd made of "NO MORE CATS."

So now we have six cats and two dogs, which is a LOT to take care of, but worth it.
