Something interesting I noticed about Sophie Stinky Toes and the kittens

She is much more tolerant of Madoc, who is sleek, slender and black and white, like her. Morgan is gray and fluffy so appears pudgy, and Sophie still pushes her away if she gets too close.

Is Sophie Stinky Toes an elitist snob? Well, at least she ate an entire meal, this morning, without me having to apply the Mirataz. And she is no longer hiding in the laundry tub or in some secret hiding place.

I'll keep working on this. It's my focus for the week. I feel cautiously confident things are going to work out, just fine.

Ok, Morgan is trying to attack Sophie's tail. I'd best take care of this before it blows up.

1. I'm dying to know how Sophie Stinky Toes got her name, there must be a story.

2. It just popped into my head, when I brought her home

I was thinking of names and liked Sophie. But as I was watching her, the additional words 'stinky toes' popped into my head. I have NO idea why. Just a weird inspiration. Maybe it was my dad's spirit whispering into my ear because he loved nick names.

3. That's great! Sometimes cats get silly nicknames just because they're silly.

4. A few weeks if no cats in our house after Frankie cross over

I trapped a feral cat and took her to the shelter to be spayed and vaccinated for rabies. Pretty Kitty has finally forgiven me, and doesn’t hide when I put out her food. Anyway, while at the shelter we took a tour of the cat house. My wife picked out two, a 3 year old silky dust mop, Manny and a gray and black stripped 2 month old little brat we named Sheela.

Sheela wanted to play with Manny, but his wasn’t having any of it. He’d be laying of the floor and would hiss as Sheela approached. This lasted all of two days, Now they are best friends, chasing each other around the house, sleeping together. And Sheela is a mouthy little thing (not so little now). If she sounds like she’s hurt, Manny appears like magic from wherever he was to comfort his little sister.

It’s fun and interesting having feline friends in the house again.

5. I've never dealt with kittens as young as these were, when I took them in.

Or, even now. Sophie was about 6 months old when she joined the household. She was never nurtured, or really even socialized (her original human was a drug addict/hoarder) so was never particularly playful and even though she took to me, she's not keen on most others. If she reaches a tolerance for Morgan, I'll declare victory.

So this is a whole new experience. And a wonderful one.

Contrats on the new additions!

7. This does sound cautiously hopeful. I do think our Miss Sophie will fully adjust

in time. There has been good progress so far. I am so glad to hearer that she ate well this morning.

9. Female cats often don't get along well unless they are littermates.
