Well, my best friend. She also rescues and fosters kittens, and has quite a nice little 'pride' living with her, full time.
I opened the package and, of course, the tears started to flow, once again. But they felt like cleansing tears. So now this lovely representation of Bastet has a place of honor, in my home. Now I just have to get past tomorrow - one week since losing Morgan.

(30,697 posts)Yet we fully expect to outlive them, at least we hope so. Its a very tough situation. While I have kind of gotten over the loss of some pets. There are some people I loved whose loss I will never get over.So we just have to put one foot in front of another. We have no choice but to carry on. I feel like crying along with you, but the sun is out and its warm and Im gonna go outside. Both my outdoor and indoor kitties seem to be happy and healthy. All your pix of Madoc really make me smile. Hang in there youre doing great!

(101,699 posts)Hang in there. The pain will always be there, but lingering a bit deeper and less acute with time. Somehow the love of your Madoc and ferals will fill the hole--at least to a great extent.
Would you mind measuring the height of your Bastet "Goddess?" I've been looking for one for a friend of mine and that one looks like a good size. Thanks!

(6,546 posts)She was special, she was with me during the hardest time in my life. She sat on the passenger seat with me as I said goodbye to my old life & drove 3,000 miles across the country to start all over again, alone. But I wasn't alone because she was with me, she was always there.

The pain of such loss never really goes away, but it does subside to a degree. Sophie and Morgan will always be with you, as close as thought.
