Lucky dog! Family pooch rescued a week after Seattle home destroyed during landslide
SEATTLE In a bit of good news for the family whose home was virtually destroyed during a landslide last week in Seattle's Magnolia neighborhood, one of two of the family's pet dogs was found safe Thursday, authorities said.
Sammy, the family's pet pooch, was found after firefighters were called to the home in the 2400 block of Perkins Lane around 1 p.m. The dog had apparently been surviving on rain water and was in a space just large enough
"I just can't believe we got her out," a neighbor said, adding that residents had gone by the house over the past few days to see if they could find the dog.
Firefighters searched the building for the animal by cutting through the floor and walls after people at the site heard the dog whimpering.
