The kittens have started napping beneath the firewood rack that's on the deck, so....

I'm brainstorming. When they're awake and elsewhere I think I'll elevate it with some spare paving blocks, remove everything else beneath it, except for the dry leaves, and put some straw down. I think I'll try bungie cording a folded tarp over the bottom of the rack to give them more protection from the weather.

Am I spoiling them? Yup.

You will protect them from the elements and simultaneously give them a better place than at the neighbor's.

I rake them up and put them in the shelter. It’s a two-in-one: clean the yard and keep the strays dry and cozy.

It's fun to watch them watching the boys. I keep thinking if they see that Gryff, Arthur and Madoc trust me, maybe they might give me a chance.

The boys are definitely living their best lives. The ferals must trust you on some level because they always return for food. Wherever they’re staying, it’s not casa Siwsan. I’m rooting for your clever ideas to improve their conditions to convince them to give you a chance. I love hearing about all the adventures.

dogs and deer. Fabulous insulation in the winter and even better if it has a pet heating pad in it. Offset the entrance so they can get away from the wind, put the entrance facing south and cover the bales with a tarp. The idea came from PETA's answer to someone asking how to best protect a Rottweiler from the winter elements, but it's also good for hot times.
