Just adopted 2 cats from a no kill shelter. So yeah, I feel pretty good today.

I've always had cats around pretty much all my life. The last one of five we had for 13 years died about 2 years ago. It was tough watching them go 1 by 1. Didn't think we were ready to commit to having another but we went to the local shelter to make a donation just before Christmas and fell in love with these 2 little girls.

I am more of a dog person, adopted all of mine - hard to leave them where they are living when you see them.

I have 7, and all were rescued within 2 of age of each other, except one who is 1 year older. All of them getting old together scares me, but the alternative was unthinkable.

11. What a pair of cuties

Our first cat showed up on our doorstep a few years, and, sadly, left just as suddenly.

Since then we took in one cat, adopted three more for home, and four feral cats for the barn.

And here we were, thinking we were dog people.
