I just don't trust any of them.

There really is no regulation required for pet foods.

I am fortunate to live in an area where there are two pet food/supply stores that are locally owned and don't even sell food items made in China. So I don't feed them to her NOW. But I had fed Layla jerky treats made in China out of stupidity when we first got her. I just didn't think about it. I'm glad I didn't feed her many, and knew to buy her food at the "good" stores so that was generally where I bought her treats as well. But I've picked that crap up in Pet Smart before when she was a puppy. She's better off eating Cheetos bummed from my husband.

It's kind of a pain, but, at least I know what they are eating. My vet says they are completely healthy, blood work has always been good, so I really feel like this is the best solution for us at this point. And, just an FYI, mine LOVE frozen green beans as a treat. I also have a really easy recipe for peanut butter treats that I make them. I might try dehydrating sweet potatoes for them this weekend as a treat.

I was feeding Buffalo, and I felt pretty good about that, but for some reason it wasn't agreeing with my boxer. They tend to be gassy naturally with the smushed faces, but the dog food was making it lethal...run you out of the room horrid. Now that she is eating home cooking, with a scoop of plain organic yogurt, that issue has completely gone away. So, air quality in my house has greatly improved as well

Now, if I can just get my boyfriend's teenagers eat as healthy as the dogs do.... baby steps, baby steps.
