Adopted 2 senior girls

A small black dog, Maltese size and attributes. I have no idea how old she is other than she is a senior. She is blind. Does anyone have a clue how old she might be? I thought because of the blindness someone might have a semi educated quess. The couple of weeks here, she ate about 1/2 cup of food a day but this week she won't eat more than about 1/4 of a cup. Of course all she does is lay around and want me to hold her. Which I do.
The other one is a minature schnauzer, her sister. The guy who surrendered them rescued the Maltese one in 2007 & never knew her age, the schnauzer he had since a puppy. She's 12 and starting to lose her sight. She's adjusting very well and in typical schnauzer fashion, is having no problems with food.
They also had another "sister" but she had already been adopted when we found them.
They had been in the shelter ( a no kill) for 2 months.
Our other 3 dogs are slightly jealous but adjusting.
Does anyone have any advise or insight?

Up to date on shots and such. I'm taking them to my vet Monday just to get an opinion. I haven't had any luck getting photos on here , I've tried but I am technologically challenged. They are on my fb page. I'm Marie Pugh.

right click and select copy image address. come here, open a dialog box, paste.

and bless your little heart for adopting senior dogs. it is something i just couldn't do. i hate when they get old, and you wonder every day if this is the day that something becomes too much.

I sound stupid.
I have an iPhone ( no home computer)
To copy a photo I hold down on the photo the copy bubble comes up & I copy it. Then I "paste " it wherever.
On this site it won't paste.
Embarrassing.

I don't have much experience with vision-impaired dogs, but I did want to offer my congratulations. Adopting two seniors is really awesome, and I hope the vet can help you get them settled in. They sound like very sweet dogs.

Good for you for adopting senior dogs with issues.

I have this image of you holding that dear little dog as he is in such a time of need. You're a special person. I just *know* your pay-ahead will be returned bountifully.

They look so sweet. I wish I could make a guess as to their age, but I can't. Sometimes, the veterinarians will hazard a guess.
