5181 still committed a homicide. So therefore if you eliminate guns they will just use another weapon. So I guess it must be pro gun.

guns were invented, the murder rate was astronomical. Do I think guns civilized Europe? Of course not. Do I think it is naive to think that those 11078 murders would not happen if guns were eliminated? That would be an understatement.

fuck, look it up if it worries you. As usual a gun thread turns into a bullshit argument over whether 11000 people were were shot or 10000 rather than the subject. If someone posts a thread about assault weapons you turn it into a argument about whether it was an assault weapon or an assault rifle. If a thread is about about firing capacity it becomes an argument about magazines or clips. Its stupid.

My figures correctly state the number of Firearm Murders. The OP fails to mention the figure also counts suicides. So either he misunderstood the data or is flat out lying.

Clames in his #10 posts what he identifies as a correction to jpaks figures by posting figures that not only aren’t what he calls them, they aren’t a correction of jpak’s.

Now Clames says the figures in his #10 correctly state the number of Firearm Murders. They do not.

In his #22 response to doc03 #16 where doc says jpaks figures are correct Clames states; ” jpaks OP fails to mention the figure also counts suicides. So either he misunderstood the data or is flat out lying.”

WISQARS is an easy way to access CDC statistics and they show in 2010 there were11,078 Homicide Firearm Deaths just as jpak’s OP stated. Homicide Injury Deaths 2010 were 16,259, again just as jpak posted in the OP. Neither statistic includes suicides as Clames falsely accuses.
Clames, just what is the purpose of your posts? You accuse someone of flat out lying and using bullshit figures and your corrections are laughably flat out wrong!

That guy was arrested and is being held on a murder charge. He will probably die in jail. Stick to the facts and leave the legal analysis to those better qualified.
