What difference a few miles make.

Gary, Ind., Fast Food Worker’s Concealed Gun Helps Foil Robbery

January 25, 2012 9:28 PM

The Indiana law that allows licensed residents to carry concealed firearms has apparently helped break up what could have been a bloody robbery.

Meanwhile in the no-gun zone of Chicago,

Three weeks ago, a gunman and an accomplice robbed and roughed up the owner of a Northwest Side pizzeria in Chicago. It was a brutal incident that was caught on surveillance video. Although concealed carry in Illinois is illegal, it is legal for a business owner to keep a registered firearm – not on his person, but on the premises.

What are the bad guys doing with guns in Chi-town? Don't they know it's against the law? Didn't the pizzeria guys give the crooks what they wanted? How could this happen?

One thing is for certain, there is one less hoodlum comitting robbery in Gary IN.

He should have just given them what they wanted.

He should have just waited for the police to come and help him.

He should have just used some Judo to stop them.

Victims who carry guns never have the element of surprise on their side so they always lose.

Such crimes are rare so people who find themselves victims should just take comfort in how rare such crimes are instead of carrying a gun.

It's the victim's fault for having something of value worth stealing on their premises.

They were empowered by easy access to guns. Probably bought them over the internet or at an Arizona gun show.

concentrate their efforts on the west side of the state line rather than the east side.
