Checking in: My Father's Day tribute to Dad (1919-2005):

(1) Putting me through graduate school

(2) Standing by me when I said I wasn't going to be inducted into the draft (1970)

(3) Teaching me how to safely use and store firearms

(4) Taking me on hunts

(5) Standing up to powerful politicians when performing his duties

(6) Reading, editing and tolerating my attempts at writing

(7) Calling the racists who bullied girls at Little Rock High School "damned cowards!" That forged my values.

Thank you, Dad. Job very well done.

while my dad was VERY anti- gun/hunting. He was always there. My best friend knows nothing about her real dad. Every night except for those few times the USAF sent him ahead of his family to get housing. He did the dad stuff.
I miss him everyday.Love you dad.
