New Google Policy - Dangerous Products or ServicesOur policy:
We want to help keep people safe both online and offline, so we don't allow the promotion of some products or services that cause damage, harm, or injury. Here are some examples of products and services that we consider to be dangerous: Guns & parts Disapproval and suspension reason: "Guns & parts" Functional devices that appear to discharge a projectile at high velocity, whether for sport, self-defense, or combat (Note that we err on the side of caution and apply this policy to sporting or recreational guns that can cause serious harm if misused, or that appear to be real guns.) Examples: Handguns, rifles, shotguns, hunting guns, functioning antique guns, airsoft guns, paintball guns, bb guns Any part or component that's necessary to the function of a gun or intended for attachment to a gun Examples: Gun scopes, ammunition, ammunition clips or belts https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/6014299?hl=en

1. as a host
would you please abide by the SOP. Care to DISCUSS what you posted?
I would think as a host you should be held to a high standard of conduct and it is not very good for you as a host to ignore this groups SOP repeatedly. I disagree and sent an email to their support link letting them know. |

2. Airsoft guns?????
Really? I suppose if you really tried you could injure yourself or someone else. Do they allow ads for knives? Baseball bats?

3. I love the smell of desperation in the morning... They also disallow bongs and e-cigs.
But in case you feel this is some sort of victory for banners, I'll remind you that all of these things are also disallowed on aircraft and other places Before 911 you couldn't bring a set of darts or a drill motor on board.
Google Policy, no bongs: Recreational drugs & drug-related equipment
Disapproval and suspension reason: "Recreational drugs & drug-related equipment" Promotion of substances that alter mental state for the purpose of recreation or otherwise induce "highs" Examples: Cocaine, crystal meth, heroin, marijuana, cocaine substitutes, mephedrone, "legal highs" Products or services marketed as facilitating recreational drug use Examples: Pipes, bongs, cannabis coffee shops Promotion of instructional content about producing, purchasing, or using recreational drugs Examples: Forums to exchange tips or recommendations on drug use Tobacco products & related equipment Disapproval and suspension reason: "Tobacco products & related equipment" Tobacco or any products containing tobacco Examples: Cigarettes, cigars, snus, chewing tobacco, rolling tobacco, pipe tobacco Products that form a component part of a tobacco product, as well as products and services that directly facilitate or promote tobacco consumption Examples: Rolling papers, pipes, tobacco filters, hookah lounges, cigar bars Products designed to simulate tobacco smoking Examples: Herbal cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, or e-cigarettes ![]() |

5. LOL.
To most, my reply would be plainly understood without detailed explanation.
My point, which you seem to miss, is "Google disallows gun adds, big fucking deal, it's among a long list of things they disallow, I'm surprised this is considered news, or worthy of posting." Organizations are afraid of liability, welcome to America. I was thinking they might also ban dildos, but maybe that's coming. Happy Wednesday! |

6. Google Fu needs new batteries apparently?
Not enough scathing media articles on firearm ownership lately I guess.
I do note they don't seem interested in Chicago having 29 people shot last weekend in Rahm's paradise. Meanwhile ... the grabber groups argue among themselves over 74, 56 or 7 school shootings since Newtown, ... while suggesting absolutely nothing that would effect these tragedies. |

7. And...
A concerted effort is afoot to allow gun posts in LBN.
Check out how many recent posts have had to be locked, posts by special people with a passion about certain topics, trying, it seems, to remake DU in their own image. Aren't there any anti-gun discussion boards out there, or do they want to shut down 2A support everywhere? Oh, never mind, I already know the answer. |

9. It becomes more and more clear every day why your "favorite" group is this one, while you host...
...in another group.
Did you have something to add about your post about the Google policy? I mean, it is a discussion board after all and it's a topic worth discussing. ![]() |

18. Yes, it's kind of interesting.
A number of members averse to the Second Amendment have been trying to post anti-gun thread in LBN.
LBN Hosts have been locking them. The member is a host but not an LBN Host, and was arguing with hosts about the locks, carrying on and on, then replied that they'd be taking their case up with admins. The links in the OP in ATA are to host discussions, visible only to hosts, if you become a host of any forum or group you can read host discussions. ~~~~~ Related to the ATA question are some of the recent LBN OPs that we voted to lock because they don't fit the SOP for LBN: (the first four were all on Monday, incredible effort) http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014836957 http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014836843 http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014836946 http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014836923 And these by others who don't seem to appreciate the right to keep and bear arms: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014838064 http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014836809 http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014837828 http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014835911 http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014824721 ![]() |

Skinner pretty much told him that he's not getting involved.
