In Two Days Archie Will Be Shot To Death Saving His Best Friend – Who Is Gay

Comic book hero Archie Andrews will die a hero in two days, saving his best friend from an assassination attempt. The shocker is this is a huge statement about gun control from the Archie Comics publisher.

Gone are the days when comic books were somewhat mindless and wholly removed from the realities of the day. Archie Andrews first came to life in 1941 at Riverdale High School. On Wednesday, he will die a hero, saving his best friend, Kevin Keller, from an assassin's bullet.

In the final installment of "Life with Archie," the grown up Archie will make a profound statement about gun control, likely one conservatives will despise.

Kevin Keller, Archie Comics first gay character, "is a married military veteran and newly elected senator who's pushing for more gun control in Riverdale after his husband was involved in a shooting," Mashable reports.

Is one branch of Archie comics. He will continue to be alive and well in the other 3-4 titles.

Kidding.

I actually didn't know Archie was still published. It sounds like a heroic way to end the story.

cartoons. The editorial cartoon was in its hay day some 20 - 30 yrs ago when MSM's anti-gun editorial hegemony was still riding a pre-Inet high. Now, the cartoons remain a backwater of culture war little different from the age of Golden Girls. Don't worry about Archie & Co. joining what remains of the fray, though I wonder about the artistic value of grafting a rather pithy gun-control statement to a gay rights message; I mean, there are the Pink Pistols to come to the rescue.
