Analysis of Recent Mass Shootings

Using FBI data and media reports, Everytown for Gun Safety developed an analysis of mass shootings that took place between January 2009 and July 2014. The analysis found that there have been at least 110 mass shootings in this five and a half-year period.

The FBI defines a “mass shooting” as any incident where at least four people were murdered with a gun. Below are some of the report’s more surprising findings:

1. Mass shootings represent a small share of total US firearm homicides.

2, There is a strong connection between mass shooting incidents and domestic or family violence: at least 57% of mass shootings surveyed were related to domestic or family violence.

3. Perpetrators of mass shootings are generally older than perpetrators of gun violence in the US as a whole. While the median age of known overall gun murderers in the U.S. is 26, the median age of perpetrators of mass shootings was 34.

You keep on posting this, but when asked how it can be done, all we hear are crickets.
Care to answer how you're going to repeal, not recall, but repeal the 2A and how you're going to remove the more than 300 million firearms from private citizens hands without an uprising?

5. SO, IF WE HAVE SANITY FIRST, THEN WE CAN START SHOOTING?

.

I'M ALL FOR THAT, SHOOTING SHOULD NOT HAPPEN IN THE ABSENCE OF SANITY.

WHAT SAY YOU, IronGate?

Just unrealistic rhetoric based on a bumper sticker propaganda. There is no logical argument that makes this idea any where near viable.

It's a wholly impossible objective. IMHO, posts that suggest such belong in creative speculation.

4. Unfortunately, that is an accurate response for this study.

While the analysis does point out some less-known data, none of it seems actionable.

whether domestic or against more external victims, i.e. robbery. Perhaps this would be a more fruitful avenue of pursuit towards curbing violence as a whole, not merely just gun violence (assuming being killed with a baseball bat could also be described as "bad&quot .

9. Now I'm confused, 110 mass shootings in 5 years AND 75 "school shootings" in one year?

Or do the 75 "school shootings" count toward the 110 mass shooting number?

Does that one guy that shot himself in a college parking lot count as a mass shooting, just a school shooting or both?

With all those shootings how can they say they represent a "small share"?

Don't those Everytown Bastards care about people?

Somewhere on the order of 2 mass shootings a year. This OP doesn't comport with prior MJ/FBI findings.
