Gun Control & RKBA

The thread closed while I was replying. I like to be able to respond to accusations of lying-
17. See, here we go. First call me a liar because I "seem like a person who owns guns" when I bare my
soul about my personal armory.
There are a number of proposals for real life legislation both from posters to the group and in links to actual proposed legislation.
You're not banned so I welcome hearing about your efforts to curb gun violence. Why didn't you post about your lobby for removing guns from domestic violence situations?
??
called you a liar? No I acknowledged that you own guns.
The collection I share with my brother is much larger, from an inheritance; you would probably be quite interested in it as the vast majority is over 100 years old or replicas. Our prize piece is a 1873 Winchester in 32 - 20 Winchester. It is in mint condition so I do not even think of shooting it.
And actually if you check the banned list you will see I am on it. I had the temerity to ask a former host a question regarding the SOP.
If you care to check my posting history in the gungeon you will see that I have proposed legislation and mentioned some upcoming gun control votes that should be supported by those who own guns as well as those who favor gun control.

(16,974 posts)going to respond to another post. Too bad he has to run away. I would love to see him post here but I do not think it will happen.
I had the problem of agreeing with another poster to get me blocked. I tried PMing the host to allow me to clear or edit but no response back.
I have seen your posts and I am sure you have also seen mine with my ideas.

(16,974 posts)I give you great credit for that but it seems he does not want to have any discussion that he cannot control the participants in. I find that sad in my opinion.
We have our disagreements but on this one you have been very nice

(18,615 posts)I still hope for the day we can work together and not all be lumped as extremists.

(68,644 posts)If you've been following the group's history, you'll know that the blocking policy was pretty heavy handed, little room for open dialogue.
And, the original host has left DU, others quit hosting out of frustration, etc., etc.
My own block from the group occurred when a regular there stalked me in other DU groups and I made the error of replying to them in the GCRA group.
I think amnesty is an idea worth considering.
Congratulations on your hosting gig in advance.

(16,974 posts)although I give him great credit for this, his message and platform posted in "bansalot" say otherwise.

(18,615 posts)To craft GC legislation than those who are familiar with firearms?
I have two simple requirements - that legislation be measurably effective over time and that it has due process.
The DV law here included both and sailed through the legislature.

(16,974 posts)I had to delete the GD thread because it raised the ire of Gungeoneers and I couldn't see any of the
replies from my ignore list. It was going down hill fast. Didn't want a lock.

(16,974 posts)I just think he did not like anyone questioning him on his posts.
sarisataka
(18,615 posts)I wasn't questioning... seem- as in appear to be. as in why would I question that and does it really matter?
The reply over there is that we have been summarily dismissed.
I guess people will hear what they expect to hear.
Despite differing views on the 'how to' our goals are the same. Hopefully some day our counterparts will see that.
I still wish them well.

(68,644 posts)It doesn't matter, they can't see what they don't want to see.
It's unfortunate that they go further and use guilt by association to categorize us with the craziest among the crazies, the NRA, and others.
Finally, to create a post and then delete it without archiving the original post and poll and results in a closing post before self-deleting is odd.
Doing so erases the context, causing even more problems where most replies are trying to have a discussion.
Sorry I didn't get to see the original.

(16,974 posts)the original poll in "bansalot" that many of us are not able to make a selection due to being blocked.

Here is the thread in GD that was self deleted when the poster did not like the discussion.

14. Welcome to my ignore list.
join the others who employ the "prove it" the red herring and the utter blindness to what to everyone else is so patently obvious. I choose not to engage in a battle of wits with, well you know the rest of it . . .
Who needs facts when a howling mob knows better?
