84-Year-Old Man Sends Tulsa Robber Running In Fear

TULSA, Oklahoma - An 84-year-old man was able to turn the tables on a robber who hit him in the face and took his wallet.

Doug Jandebeur wasn't too flustered about being robbed Monday night in front of his business near 71st and Lewis, especially after he was able to send the robber running away in fear.

--------------------------------snip---------------------------------------------

The robber stopped near the door - like he was looking inside the billfold - then, all of a sudden, he took off running.

We asked what scared the man off, Jandebeur said, "I pulled out my automatic and was getting ready to ventilate him."

I recommend everyone read the entire article. The four paragraphs I'm allowed to post don't do it justice.

However, once again I find myself annoyed at the reporter. What happened to the billfold? Did the punk drop it or run off with it?

Hopefully he was caught with it on him. Maybe it will be worth an extra few years in prison.

at least I didn't find anything after a quick search. I think it's it's likely they will get him, espescially if there is some kind of "crime stoppers" reward. His buddie will turn him in if they can get some cash. Of course they better not have any outstanding warrants.

I couldn't find anything else about it either. If I see anything on any of the local news sites, I'll post an update.

http://www.newson6.com/story/28638373/news-on-6-story-leads-to-teen-suspected-of-robbing-84-year-old-man

TULSA, Oklahoma - Tulsa police robbery detectives say a tip from a Facebook follower of News on 6 Anchor Lori Fullbright helped find a teenage suspect they say beat and robbed an 84-year-old man.

Lori interviewed the victim last week who turned the tables on the robber when he pulled out his gun.

Police arrested 16-year-old Demondre Marshall Scott for the robbery and for a carjacking that happened Thursday.

The "What If Weasels" are the grabbers that go to great lengths to spin a yarn about how; "Well, if he had shot at the guy and missed he might have killed a car full of nuns and orphans or shot through a school."

So self defense, even when it works, is always a bad thing ... or could have been a really bad thing.

I thought in this case we might see some "well what if this poor elderly fellow had..." types. Maybe it's just a slow week.
