Gun Control & RKBA
Related: About this forumMan raises eyebrows carrying rifle through Atlanta airport
Jim Cooley says he carried his gun through the terminal when he and his wife went to drop his daughter off for her flight. He says he knew he wasnt breaking any rules because he has a full understanding of Georgias gun laws.
You can carry in unsecured areas of the airport. Past TSA, never, Cooley said.
You never know where something might happen, said Cooley, posing here with his daughter at the airport.
Thats exactly what he did. Cooley carried his AR-15 fully loaded with a 100-round drum through parts of the terminal.

X-posted from the other group with the correct headline,
This is what was posted in the other group"
And of course, the obligatory penis reference:
What is it about the gun control proponents and the sexual innuendos?
Now, because I was chastised by the host of the other group for not providing commentary on another thread,
Here's my comment.
Yes, this may be legal, but it shouldn't be done, it hurts the gun rights movement and alarms patrons for very little gain.
Also, a 100 round drum? Those POS's are useless, they jam up very often, I myself would never own one.

(597 posts)If it was legal for him to carry there, what type of firearm do you think he could openly carry without being a "gun nut" and/or "asshole"?
You're complaining that an AR-15 with a 100 round drum is an asshole engaging in over-the-top gun nuttery, but where is your lower threshold? Tell us what would have, in your opinion, be the upper limit for a non-asshole, non-gun nut level of obeying that open carry law.

(16,974 posts)This guy is just wants attention and he got it. Makes RKBA people look bad and does not help the cause. !00 round magazines are stupid, prone to jam wand putting that much ammo through a weapon will just ruin it if they worked anyway.
Does not surprise me the childish sexual references over in that "safe haven" group.

(15,396 posts)I could somewhat even understand the rifle considering...but the stupid jam-o-matic drum mag is a one way ticket to death.
Myself I feel awkward open carrying...

(15,396 posts)No real 2A progressive would carry a shitty drum magazine....I'm going to assume this guy is either a journalist or belongs to some gun ban organization.

(18,318 posts)when it came time to pick it up at the carousel. Since it wasn't there, I looked at All the carousels and couldn't find it. Finally, I looked at a few loading docks in the carousel area, and found it sitting openly sitting on a shelf, unattended. My concern was it could have been stolen in the 35 mins it took to locate it.
