Teenager protects twin brothers with father's rifle after break-in attempt

Teenager protects twin brothers with father's rifle after break-in attempt

NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) – It's a parent's nightmare – the children are home alone when robbers break in.

Two young men are caught on surveillance video breaking in to Kieawa Mason's home.

His 14-year-old son, Andrew, and his younger twins were the only ones home. Andrew and his siblings were trained not to answer when anyone knocked.

"Eventually I hear a thud on the door so I assume, he's breaking in," Andrew said.

and protection. It takes two incomes to survive these days, and childcare is very expensive. God bless these young kids and gratitude to their parents for knowing what to do.

My folks instructed us in how to escape any number of threats: Fire (go out the second floor window), boating (we all could swim well, and float in the water for a long time, even without a lifejacket), car crash in water (escape through window when water was past upper seat height), break-in (don't go down stairs unless parents are threatened and attacked, and then only with our handguns, which we were responsible for).

where we would go if we didn't. We were brought up in the country...maybe that's why.

to be like Jesus is a good thing.

Who needs hell when we humans create our own right here!
