Anti-Obama bumper sticker sparks drawn handgun in parking lot

Edward Rodriguez, a former U.S. veteran, accosted Chris Williams in the parking lot of a local Albuquerque restaurant over a bumper sticker on his vehicle which said reelecting President Barack Obama was a mistake. Rodriguez told Williams, "People like you should be shot."

A shoving match ensued, but it is unclear who was the first to lay hands on the other. Williams drew a concealed weapon, a .380 pistol, and pointed it at Rodriguez. After gaining control of the situation Williams directed Rodriguez to get and stay on the ground. Police were called and arrived with Williams holding Rodriguez at gunpoint.

When Williams was asked by police why he was pointing his weapon at Rodriguez, he said he thought he had a weapon of some kind. Possibly a knife, or "access" to a gun, as reported locally by koat.com.

Edward Rodriguez was searched and found to possess absolutely no weapons.

Chris Williams was arrested and taken to The Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center.

He was later charged with false imprisonment, and aggravated assault. The charge of false imprisonment carries a maximum possible sentence of 18 years in prison.

by a mean old man.

And CCW holders wonder where they get a rep as scared "delicate flowers".

Chris Williams could have walked away and left the old man ranting and raving at nobody or called the police if the fella was getting too obnoxious.

Why is pulling a gun becoming the first action instead of the last resort?
