Toll of U.S. Sailors Devastated by Fukushima Radiation Continues to Climb

The roll call of U.S. sailors who say their health was devastated when they were irradiated while delivering humanitarian help near the stricken Fukushima nuke is continuing to soar.

So many have come forward that the progress of their federal class action lawsuit has been delayed.

Bay area lawyer Charles Bonner says a re-filing will wait until early February to accommodate a constant influx of sailors from the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan and other American ships.

Within a day of Fukushima One’s March 11, 2011, melt-down, American “first responders” were drenched in radioactive fallout. In the midst of a driving snow storm, sailors reported a cloud of warm air with a metallic taste that poured over the Reagan.

culminates into cancers much later, sometimes years, its easy for the nuclear power industry to claim that no one has been harmed by nuclear energy. Its hard to prove due to that. For every study done to measure the effects that shows a correlation and due to the time constraints none of them can absolutely prove causation. What we're left with is what do you as an individual wants to believe to be the truth, Hardly an argumentative position to be in. Those affected are left holding the bag while the industry plows on ahead in total denial.
We can do better and must.
I forget how many square miles are uninhabitable by humans due to Chernobyl but I do know a city of 50,000 is a ghost town now. It matters not that that kind of reactor is antiquated and no longer used or that we have better designed plants now it matters that when nuclear goes bad it goes bad in a big way and stays with us for many year. I doubt anyone alive today will live to see the day that people will be allowed back into the exclusion zone of Chernobyl or Fukushima areas as safe places to return to and live.

We have several nuclear power plants that are sited near large population areas here in the USA, What happens if we have an accident and one of those areas are cordoned off as unsafe. Are we ready for that???
I think not

and then always mention a "cloud of warm air".
Which is it, a snow storm or warm air? The articles never mentions what kind of snow either. Never, so it is assumed the snow is made from ice crystals of water. If it is snowing something else, why don't they say so? Also when this basic article first appeared, it was just "snow", No storm. It was just snowing. Now it has been upgraded to a "driving snow storm". But it always mentions a cloud of warm air when it was snowing. How can it snow, if the air is warm? If the air warmed up, it would stop snowing and start raining. No mention of rain was ever mentioned, ever.

Paranoia and hysteria will defeat reality every time. Why am I skeptical? The basic story does not make sense.

I suspect that this is just more Fukushima fear mongering. We've had a lot of that going on here. Many are going to ENEnews for their info, which appears to be a Web site deliberately put up to fear monger about the nuclear disaster at Fukushima Daiichi.
