Chaffee Village is slated for partial demolition in the near future.
Fort Hood Family Housing currently has development plans being reviewed at the headquarter level of the Army in Washington, D.C., said Marvin Williams, director of property management with Fort Hood Family Housing. The plan is for the demolition of about one-third of Chaffee Village on the west side with replacement houses for that area.
Replacement homes will be built atop the former Chaffee house footprint.
In addition, new houses are to be built on the north side of Wainwright Heights, Williams said.
unhappycamper comment: The article does not mention WHO is going to build this new housing, but this camper predicts it will become privatized military housing. The DoD does not have bucks for military housing.
