Anyone ever contact your optometrist to get a copy of your lens rx?

Since I"m not going into places and I need to get my glasses lens replaced (un removable smudges) I thought I would contact them to send me my rx after all I did pay for it.

Still I feel funny calling them up to ask for it so I, obviously, 'am going to order them online.

Do people do this or is considered weird? Anyone have experience with online lenses? I

guess I'm burning my bridges with the office, I've been going there for 10 years.

Thanks.

Online glasses are OK and certainly cheaper than going through a retail store. I’ve used $39 Glasses in the past and was satisfied.

the patients at the time of their exam. We can not fax or mail the script to a patient. We can only fax or mail to a dispensary, and only if it has not expired. Mailing or faxing a script is a violation if HIPAA. We are happy to help you get your script filled whether locally or online.

Of course, they may be waiving that requirement right now due to the virus.

It's your prescription, they'll be fine with giving you a copy.
If you know where you're going to order your new glasses. they can request it too.

It's not weird at all, I don't think.

I've been using online ordering for 3 or 4 years and have had no problems. Surprisingly they usually need minimal adjustment when they arrive as well.

Warby Parker sends you frames to try on, which is nice and convenient, but I've liked Zenni Optical's designs best (and their prices are amazing - I got 5 pairs for $450 - four of which were progressive and two of the progressives were sunglasses).

It was literally the last day to use it, and I figured I'd get myself a variety, so I blew it all on glasses.

I always get a copy of my prescription after my yearly eye exam. As a matter of fact, I'm heading to pick up my new specs this afternoon. I had to wait 2 months to get an appointment for my eye exam, when I usually wait a few days. You are entitled to any information from your eye Doctor, so either have them call or fax your Rx to wherever you want your glasses made. I can't wait to pick up my new specs this afternoon, and I know you'll appreciate a nice, scratchless and smudgeless pair yourself.

Most will give it to you. Some might charge a fee for a copy of your medical records.

There's someone right behind you stepping in to help with his or her Audi payments.
Would you feel guilty about changing phone plans or cable companies?

but regarding your permanent "smudges," don't clean your glasses with anything (especially kleenex or paper towels) except 100% cotton, or products specifically for glasses. Paper acts like sandpaper. Use a handkerchief or a cotton t-shirt.
