They are bad for your feet. When I was very young, my grandmother showed me her bunions and told me to not to wear pointy shoes or the same thing would happen to me. I know that women who wear high heels all the time shorten their Achilles tendons and aren't able to stand barefoot. There are a host of problems that come with them. In my case, I lack the basic coordination to walk in heels higher than 2 1/2 inches. On occasion I see some shoes that make me wish I were more coordinated. Like these:

I posted a picture of them in the Lounge last week. The cavers picked it up and said I was wearing hooker shoes. They are in fact Missoni. I won't be buying them, however, since I don't stand a chance of being able to walk in them.

I have the bunions and hammer toes to prove it. Add in an autoimmune disease that attacks the spine and hips and Jimmy Choo is a man I can only observe from afar. I love looking at them - but then I try them on and . . . Ouch.

I guess I'm lucky that my husband thinks my low heeled riding boots are sexy. Eh? I think he thinks they are sexy because I can keep up with him when we are walking in the city.

Oh and those shoes are not hooker shoes. My peers wear those to work daily.

bunions can be hereditary. And they suck.

I have no idea why people wear torture devices of any kind.

Combination of pointe shoes and hereditary. But it's not worth it to even think about surgery until I'm in my 50's

I have a pair of black stilettos. I also have a couple pairs of lower (inch to 2 inches) shoes. The only flats I own are a pair of moccasins.
