they like to claim that most of the party agrees with them and hates obama as they do are let down.

but remember one thing, OBama was NOT popular on DU even before he was elected. on DU it was Kucinich and Edwards who mostly got support for PResident. obama and Clinton combined had less than kucinich had by himself. in 2004 Kerry was very unpopular on DU and continues to be today.

one thing i notice they always do is they regularly attack democrats but if a democrat happens to win they come in and claim credit and start with the "candidate X better after all we did to get them into office". when the reality is these people did not do anything to help them get into office. in fact it's much more likely they voted for another candidate.

over the years i notice in politics there are certain attention whore types . when i have told these people to just not vote for the democrat if they are that disappointed they get even more angry because what they want is attention and for others to beg them to vote for someone.

Election. I have a different attitude now.. it doesn't get to me as much because now after all these years I just consider the source.

The President isn't perfect.. no one is.. but, he doesn't deserve hate.. that's for the rw assholes. Obama shows respect to everyone even his enemies.. but, they don't have the class to show him respect.

But this sudden resurgence of "Obama bad/Warren and Sanders good" and "MUST. WHINE. ABOUT. TPP" is just so orchestrated and phony.

This whole thing is the Jim and Tammy Faye of discussions. Slimy, fake and dishonest as hell and only the True Believers are the ones giving it more than 2 seconds worth of play.

Intellectual group that talks about more profound things than any other group. I'm not black, and try not to post much, as I see this group as a place for POC to hash things out and for non-POC to learn from. But I feel safer here, which probably sounds a bit odd. This is a classy group, that's all I can say.

I understand it from republicans and the right wing. They haven't won anything of consequence since President Obama took office.

But Eyores here. They whine and whine. It's not just the low count posters. It's many high count ones too. They don't understand the role of Congress. They need to watch Schoolhouse Rocks, on how a bill becomes law. Also I think some of them are trolls. Very effective ones, at splitting up unity among us and trying to get democrats not to vote.

Something hilarious I've noticed. A few people who attack President Obama all the time said after the midterms that some democrats didn't act like liberal democrats should act during their campaigns. You know who they were talking about? Those who ran away from President Obama and his strong record of success! Yet some of those posters act clueless that they themselves have been bashing the President nearly all his time in office! That's just sheer narcissism and selfish cluelessness - something that is far too prevalent in our society, particular in my humble opinion among white people. Yes, it's probably really bad among white conservatives. But it's also really bad among white liberals.

We on the left have to tighten our game. It starts by looking in the mirror. Do what we present to others help persuade them to join our cause? Of course this is just a message board, not a lot of people read it, blah blah blah. But the way some people here act, they act like privileged loudmouthed hyper critical babies. If I were on the outside looking in I certainly wouldn't want to join THEIR party.

Especially the ones who act like the President should behave like a dictator. That's ridiculous. I don't like the authoritarian streak of a lot of the Obama critics from his left. I especially don't like what I see as the nearly constant talking over people, particularly over black people, that occurs here.

Which brings me to the racism issue. I've noticed it since I first started reading and posting here. Talking over people of color. Or talking down, or lecturing. Do I think it's improved in the past few years? I don't know. Perhaps. I tend to be optimistic. I've noticed a lot of white people here are sensitive to this stuff, so in that way I feel pretty good. Anything that can be done to improve it here, please make suggestions. I like very much that so many have mentioned just listening and not being rude.

There's enough cool folks that I enjoy posting & reading here. I like the lounge, and the humor there. I don't expect to get along perfectly with everyone. Heck, I don't offline either. I have a few close friends and family and that's all I need. I try and ignore the haters or the ones who talk over people without really listening carefully and thinking before they post. I like it here in this group a lot and I appreciate that I can read and occasionally post here.

Subject - Sure you "Old selfish white" "cracker" "silent white racist" "white privilege" "whiny white people"

Body - This site has become a place for a lot of people to come and target other people, not to make actual arguments. Depending on what "jury" is around at any given time, any kind of name-calling stays.

As the name-calling gets worse, the overall intellect of the site decreases so your point is understood.

Someone at DU believes an experience "White Privilege" and an enemy "Silent White Racist" is name calling. *smh*

I'm going to start encouraging any member who posts about race as it relates to black Americans (ANY ISSUE) anywhere outside of this group to delete and repost here.

Evidently - we are in the way to 'that one'. He's proof positive to me that these super extra special populist progressives have not one fuck to give about me -

So I'm not gonna have on fuck to give about them and their issues. Just trashed their whole god damned group this morning.

Those people/types at DU always get away with that stuff. Why even alert anymore.

Yet I say I've not one fuck to give about that poster - and think that TYPE of person is too wet to step on and too low to kick (It's a type of person in the general world -no one at DU) and if I were to write that I would get a hide.

That's not fair that we can't tell people we don't respect them and would never allow them in our homes.

I am sick of people criticizing everything the man does. It's like he can do no right in the eyes of some. I've even started joking that it's quoted in the bible that the root of all that is wrong is Obama. I tend to joke about things that bother me and this is one of them.
