sanitation worker), they live in Brooklyn and he really wants to help pull them up by winning big at the Olympics. Hope he does it!

Not that I am pushing my daughter in that direction, she is only 5, and it is only as long as she wants to.

But her class takes place at the same time as teenage girls are doing balance beam and uneven parallel bar routines all around her, and teenagers win Olympic medals. I am impressed as can be every time I go to this gym. Seeing what they can do up close is much better than t.v.!

There are trophies everywhere in this gym. The gym is ethnically diverse, too, with a sizable number of African-American kids.

when I was watching sports with my father and wondering if I would ever see a black pitcher. Or quarterback. Or NFL coach...

There may even be a black Michael Phelps out there...( UPDATE: ) Did I say "May?"
