I could post something said in anger right now, but I usually take time to calm down, think about what I want to say and write it very, very carefully, simply because I don't want any misunderstandings about what I've just said.

Things have been going on, against members that I regard as friends and I feel that I haven't said enough about that.

Time for a change.

A forum full of non-black democrats...it's not surprising at all the way some members are retaliating against the minority members who have the audacity to speak their minds.

This threatening letter business because a member speaks her mind? That's crossing the line. Forum admin know how disgusting the tone has been on this board and what happens next will determine where the admin stands on this targeting of Black members.

We've had flame wars and big problems over the years on DU, but this is unusual.

I just served (again) on a jury for a totally ridiculous, uncalled-for alert. The post in question was not a personal attack, was nothing at all but an observation, a statement of an opinion, that somebody took to be some kind of "attack" against Bernie Sanders supporters.

I don't know what's going on, but there seems to be a group of trolls targeting DU.

I believe that making the names of alerters and jurors transparent might solve the problem.

My personal opinion is that a small group of right-wing trolls have targeted DU to cause trouble. Most of them are posing as Bernie supporters. I think that the purpose is to create divisiveness among Democrats, and perhaps they are hoping to make Bernie look bad. Typical disruptor behavior. I notice that it's getting worse as Bernie does better in the polls.

If I can make a suggestion, based on my own prior experience being in the middle of flamewars on DU (I learned this the hard way) - the trolls will be defeated if we all refuse to get angry with one another. I've never actually achieved this goal, but it's worth a try.

Like to be considered when we are alerted. Indicating by poster a choice in candidates is not a true alert and those should have a way to trash the alert and time out for the alerted to alert again. I would like to have a comment as to our decisions for voting to hide or leave by juries, it would give reasoning behind their votes.

the stalking via alerts and now in real life is beyond the pale. The admins have to do something although, given how many DUers, both from the AA group and in general, have already left, it might already be too late to fix a system that is completely broken, imo.

I'm pretty pissed, as well. I thought at least DU was beyond this kind of crap. Evidently not. MrScorpio, I've always held you in the highest regard - as well as a bunch of other DU'ers. I hate this stuff. Hate it.
