Mississippi universities drop state flag

Hey all,

So that's the University of Mississippi ("Ole Miss&quot removing the state flag from campus.

Here's the governor bitching at them about it.

Here's the University of Southern Mississippi ("Southern&quot also removing the state flag.

The only public co-ed non-HBCU left in Mississippi still flying the state flag is Mississippi State University ("State&quot , which is generally considered the most liberal of the three "white" universities. So if there's any pressure you can bring to bear, now is the time.

On that note: my friend in the state legislature says to look for a big move early next week from the HBCUs in the state to also drop the flag. At that point I don't see how Mississippi State can continue.

I really do think that we can actually get rid of this toxic flag in the next year or so.
