“There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who just really dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black president,” Obama said in the article by David Remnick, appearing in the magazine’s Jan. 27 edition.

“Now, the flip side of it is there are some black folks and maybe some white folks who really like me and give me the benefit of the doubt precisely because I’m a black president,” Obama said in his most direct comments on how race has affected his political standing since he’s been in office.

Obama’s second term has been marked by controversies including a partial government shutdown in October, revelations that the National Security Agency has gathered personal mobile phone data and the troubled rollout of health-insurance expansion.

Obama’s approval rating among all voters is 39 percent and his disapproval rating is 53 percent, according to a Gallup Poll conducted Jan. 14-16. In the 2012 presidential election, Republican candidate Mitt Romney won 59 percent of the white vote, compared with Obama’s 39 percent, according to exit polling by a consortium of major news outlets. Obama won 43 percent of the white vote in 2008 against 55 percent for opponent John McCain, a Republican senator from Arizona.

How long before some of our fellow DU'ers make it all about them? Because he not talking about them - he's talking about dimwits that voted for Romney, McCain, IndieTeaPublicans, Teahadists, etc. etc.

But can we all admit it's true? That there are people in America that he could id himself as Jesus Christ, Santa Claus,The Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy all wrapped up in one - and they would still hate him?

Racist liberals are convinced that racism only applies to conservatives. Racist Yankees are convinced that racism only applies to Southerners. Racist conservatives are convinced that racism only applies to liberals. It's whatever group that a white person is NOT a member of that can only be racist.

When a few brave individuals here noted that white liberal support for the president has always fluctuated and been among his lowest numbers (because white people AS A GROUP have always had less support for this president), oh you should have heard the howls. When Melissa Harris Perry had the UNMITIGATED gall to actually discuss this even further, oh the fury she invoked! Folks are still talking about this today.

These folks exhibit every single day why so many black people see only the TINIEST of differences between white liberals and white conservatives. Add on to the fact that we still get the "it's not race! It's class!12" clowns, the desperate and ever so quick support of the (of course, white) anti-Obama who says that the only good thing the president has done is be black in office, and the pot heads that wail about racial discrepancies in prison sentencing but ONLY when it applies to marijuana (fuck the murder, rape, jaywalking, and every damn thing else discrepancies) and all you can do is shake your head and not walk, but RUN to get the bloody fuck away from these people.
