(23,059 posts)My cousin was a very middle middle class person who had lost her job and needed direction. She worked with her therapist to get ideas of what abused children needed and how she could support them. She started writing a book, got her daughter to draw lots of pictures of all types of little girls, filled it full of love and support and great advice, took it around and got advice and after re-writes, eventual approval from 4 different child therapists who specialized in abused patients. Her book got published and is now used in schools and by therapists. Most of her sales have been therapists ordering her books for their patients, but churches, schools and individuals are also buying. From this success, she has gone on to publish 4 self-help books for children. She has zero knowledge of the industry, no connections, just a desire to do something positive. I bet a similar approach, maybe going to art schools or Black HIstory Professors, would work to make a book out of these, maybe with the picture upfront, then a chapter about each?? Anyway, just a suggestion for sharing these spectacular and beautiful photos, if you want to do that.
Whatever you decide to do or not, thank you so much for sharing these with us.

(27,791 posts)What I really like about it is that it is just opening the door - I immediately thought of a bunch more women that could be on a list like this, and I hope either more people do it, or that this family does one every year.

(296 posts)to Jhan: Thank You so much for sharing.......................to Cristi Smith-Jones: Outstanding, As a history buff this really makes me wish we didn't limit AA history to just one month a year. AA history is World/American/Human history and should be taught as such..................................... to Lola: OFF THE CHARTS COOL!!! If nothing else you made me wish that Feb had more days, and trust me that is really saying something in this cold windy artic like climate!!! LOVED IT!!! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!
