Pick any issue of right vs left and I can trace it to racism, almost any

Go ahead, give me a issue where the right and left disagree, i will do two things

a. prove the left is on the right side of any issue where the two disagree

b. that 99 out of 100 of the issues can be traced in one way or another to the civil war and the south's anger over their loss and this is not limited to the South anymore, there are very alive and well racist camps all over America and in some of the blue-est parts of the blue-est states as well...

I get what you're saying, but the issue of *modern* racism in the U.S. is Blue_Tires May 2014 #6

I didn't see where you said current philosophies, because almost everyone on the left and right say WWI was necessary.

OK, now that I got that out of the way, how's gun-control?

For a long time, we had gun control in the sense that white people had the guns and blacks didn't. Then black people started taking advantage of a lack of gun control and started arming up - at which point white people started saying, 'Woah! We really shouldn't have armed (black) people just wandering around!' and gun control laws started popping up. But in the meantime, our 'justice system' had been busy as well, and more and more black people wound up in jail for things that might get a white person probation. And when black people shot white people, they went to jail for a looong time, or were executed. White people then realized that when they shot black people, they got far easier sentences, or not even arrested. At which point white people started saying, 'Woah! We really need armed (white) people just wandering around!'

(Now obviously, it's not *every* white person that thinks like this, but there are plenty out there who do, and are more than happy to let an older 'white-looking' guy off for shooting a black teen, but want to send a black woman to jail for 20-60 years for merely firing a warning shot at an aggressor who admitted he intended her harm.)

So (mainly) on the right, they want the ability to shoot anyone they want, and get off scot free, while those pesky minorities (who vote Dem after all) get to spend their lives in jail if they even dare to fire a gun, even without intent to hit anyone.

but I will add the great story of that total complete prick moron Raygun, he saw some Black guys with guns when he was governor, then guess what happened

Raygun was a vicious racist prick and a moron...

this is fun though, keep em coming

I take zero credit for this though, i think i first heard this on Mark Thompson or Matsimela Mapfumo who has the most awesome show on Sirius called "Make It Plain"

much more complex than you're making it out to be...Yes, the historical legacies of the "Triangle Trade", "Three-Fifths of a person", colonialism, the Civil War and Reconstruction are all huge factors, but they don't tell the whole story...And IMO it is overly simplistic to say that every mean-spirited, moronic stunt the right wing pulls is related to Jim Crow or Reconstruction...
