Educated, by Tara Westover
I'm late to the party, but I just finished reading Educated by Tara Westover. I said "wow" a lot, and some of it was VERY uncomfortable for me.
I have to admit that I haven't read an actual book for a long time, though I read all the time. I had almost forgotten how much I enjoyed books.

A few years ago I met a family a LOT like that when traveling through Idaho. They are actually related to my ex-husband.
I also prefer non-fiction. I'm going to finish President Obama's last book, which I started quite awhile ago, and then I'll be looking for something else.
I'm finally in a place, emotionally, where I can really get into books again. Life is good.

I read Obama's pre-election books (Dreams from my Father and Audacity of Hope). If you are a podcast listener, he and Bruce Springsteen did a series of about 6 on Spotify called Renegades: Born in the USA. I highly recommend it, if you are a fan of either or both!!
My youngest son practically forced me to read that book, and now I'm wondering if he had a deeper motive. We don't have an actual Shawn in our family, but there was definitely a bully-type person.
