I would recommend the First Law series by Joe Abercrombie.

It's the best fantasy series I've read in many years.

I just read the trilogy, and the three stand-alone novels. They were fantastic.

Anyone that enjoys Martin's Fire and Ice series will mostly likely enjoy these books as well.
