TVIW 2017 Symposium Free Science Fiction Writers Panel - Friday at 8 pm at Embassy Suites Hotel

For the fan of science fictions, the 2017 TVIW Symposium, which HAL5 is a sponsor of, is hosting a FREE science fiction writers panel, this Friday Evening, Oct. 6, 8 p.m. at Embassy Suites Hotel main ballroom.

TVIW will be presenting a panel discussion by renowned science fiction writers to address the question: What are possible futures for the development of interstellar travel? There will be a meet & greet and book signing afterwards.
The panel will include:
1. Larry Niven. Author of Ringworld, the co-author of The Mote in God's Eye and Lucifer's Hammer, the editor of the Man-Kzin War series, and has written or co-authored over 50 books. He is a five-time winner of the Hugo Award, along with a Nebula and numerous others.
2. Allen Steele. Science fiction writer with nineteen novels and six collections of short fiction to his credit, and have received the Hugo, Locus, and Seiun awards, and nominated for the Nebula, Sturgeon, and Sidewise Awards. He is also a recipient of the the Robert A. Heinlein Award. His novels include Orbital Decay, Clarke County, Space, Lunar Descent, Labyrinth of Night, The Jericho Iteration, The Tranquillity Alternative, A King of Infinite Space, Oceanspace, Times Loves A Hero (originally titled Chronospace), the Coyote Trilogy -- Coyote, Coyote Rising, and Coyote Frontier – the Coyote Chronicles – Coyote Horizon and Coyote Destiny -- Spindrift, Galaxy Blues, Hex, Apollo’s Outcast, V-S Day, and Arkwright.
3. Greg Benford. Gregory is author of top-selling novels, including Jupiter Project, Artifact, Against Infinity, Eater, and Timescape, is that unusual creative combination of scientist scholar and talented artist; his stories capture readers – hearts and minds – with imaginative leaps into the future of science and of us. He is also on the faculty of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of California, Irvine.
4. James Cambia. Science fiction and fantasy writer and tabletop game designer, whose stories have been finalists for the James Tiptree, Jr. Award, the Locus Award, the John W. Campbell Memorial Award, and the Compton Crook Award. Cambias was a nominee for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer in 2001.He is authors of A DARKLING SEA, and CORSAIR.
5. Geoffrey Landis. Scientist, a science fiction writer, and a poet. He has won the Hugo and Nebula awards for science fiction, and his first novel, MARS CROSSING, won the Locus award for best first novel.
