Opposing pitchers hadn't homered in the same inning in MLB since April, 1997. Doing it off each other in the same inning hadn't happened since May of 1990 (that involved the hated Dodgers)..

For the Giants, at no time in their history (since at least 1919), had they been involved in a game in which it happened. However, in 1988, Mike Krukow homered of Padres starter Eric Show, and then later in the game Mark Davis homered off Giants reliever Don Robinson...
