A-Fraud breaks his hand..

New York Yankees will have to mix and match at third base for the next couple of months after Alex Rodriguez suffered a non-displaced fracture of his left fifth metacarpal after being hit by a pitch from Seattle starter Felix Hernandez in the eighth inning of a 4-2 loss to the Mariners.

"It's a tough blow," a somber Rodriguez said about an hour after the game ended. His left hand was heavily wrapped, and he'll fly back with the team after Wednesday's game and be checked out by the Yankees' medical staff on Thursday.

"I never thought it was a fracture, but it was."

Rodriguez grabbed his left hand with his right after being hit, and never let go even as he fell to the ground, writhing on the dirt near home plate.

Interesting West Coast road trip those Yankees are having..winning only 1 of 6, picking up Ichiro, now losing Rodriquez..

I wonder if the Rays or the Orioles will be able to take advantage of it this time?

not so much anymore. My evolution has allowed me to assume the moral high ground on any such topic. Thanks for bringing it up anyway..for I'm always happy to elaborate on my positions..

Rodriquez is still booed heartily there because of the way he left after the 2000 season.

If that's the case, no offense..but your opinion on this topic is highly suspect. If I remember correctly, Bonds was booed in Pittsburgh right up until he retired in 2007. Perhaps not with the intensity of PNW fans (Rodriquez is strongly disliked), but booed nonetheless..
