A 14 inning epic was played in the Bronx today

The Yanks beat the A's 10-9 in five hours, forty-three minutes.

Oakland took a four-run lead in the top of the 13th with 3 home runs, but the bullpen couldn't close it out, giving up four runs to New York and forcing a 14th inning.

18 pitchers were utilized. The Yankees left 17 runners on-base (a combined box score of 31) while the As stranded 13 (26). Just about everything you'd want to see in a game happened in this one, including a colossal 12th inning collision at home plate between A's catcher Derek Norris and pinch runner Raul Ibanez (Ibanez was out).

A real heart breaker for A's fans.
