Eric Naposki Gets Life In Prison: Ex-New England Patriot Sentenced For Murder

SANTA ANA, Calif. -- A former NFL linebacker was sentenced Friday to life in prison without possibility of parole for murdering his lover's wealthy live-in boyfriend nearly two decades ago in California.

An Orange County Superior Court judge sentenced Eric Andrew Naposki more than a year after a jury convicted him of first-degree murder in the fatal 1994 shooting of 55-year-old William Francis McLaughlin.

Naposki's lover, Nanette Ann Packard, urged the former linebacker for the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts to kill McLaughlin because she stood to collect $1 million on a life insurance policy if he died, prosecutors said. She gave him the key to the home she shared with McLaughlin and told Naposki when he would be home.

Naposki shot McLaughlin six times in the kitchen and then fled – but later showed up for his job as a bouncer at a local night club, prosecutors said.

BTW, Maryland (or should I say Marryland) is even bluer than your state of Massachussetts!! Gotta love our governor, Martin O'Malley!!

None of the folks in the Maryland Group are football fans. Plus it drives my wife absolutely batshit crazy with all the "Purple Friday" shit at school. She hates football, so I have had to rub it into her after every Raven victory. I think she is really starting to hate Flacco and Harbaugh as they always seem to be playing 2-4 playoff games a year.

Which is worse? Jumping on the bandwagon for just one week or always staying true to certain teams?

BTW, I don't like the Ravens but I hate the Farty Niners because of this:

When people talk about the 3 second TD pass that never should have been it really pisses me off.

That and their worthless current coach calling me the C-word back in the day. Yeah, no love for that team here.

But, I don't want to see Lewis win either. So, I think I'm going to spend Sunday writing.
