Related: About this forumI'm going to the Packers game!!
I am terrified. It could be colder than the Ice Bowl. I survived the NFC Championship game in 2008 when we lost to the Giants in Favre's last game as a Packer. That is currently the second coldest game on record at Lambeau. I also went to the game against the Falcons a few weeks ago. That was bad, too. But... this weekend, it's going to be horrible. BUT it's the Packers. In a championship. Tenth row. And I've not seen Aaron Rodgers play yet.
Pray for me. Or light a candle or send warm vibes.
And GO PACK!!!

(53,475 posts)Just wear all the clothes you own, you'll be fine.
Seriously, pay special attention to what you wear on your head and feet, and dress in layers. Try not to be too bulky as everyone will be squashed together already, which will help keep you warm. Hopefully it's someone you like (or will like!).
Have fun; we'll look for you on the TeeVee.

(27,985 posts)Pro tip: These things are magical out there:
It's also a MUST to carry a blanket. at all times. And the hot chocolate there is nectar of the gods. I am just praying we have aisle seats so we can make bathroom runs. It's heavenly warm in them. Last game we didn't get the chance at ALL.
I'll wave to you!!

(32,003 posts)since the year I was born (their first Superbowl!) ... but I've never seen a game at Lambeau. But then again I've been away from the cold longer than I lived in it, so I would likely freeze as the 49ers fans will. We will be waiting here for a full report. Any pictures of Clay Matthews would be a bonus!

(27,985 posts)It's really an amazing experience and I consider myself damn lucky any time I get to.
Even if you can't get to a game, come for a stadium tour. THAT is very cool. They're led by old guys in their 70's from the neighborhood who have lived and breathed the Packers since day 1. You get to walk through the player tunnel onto the field, and touch a plaque that the players all ceremoniously touch as they exit... it's really neat.
Yeah. lifelong, 3rd generation cheesehead through and through.
but FUCK it's a brutal winter.

(32,003 posts)and we'd drive around Lambeau - that is as close as I've been. I'm from a really small town and both families there for many generations. Farmers and factory workers mostly ... I wasn't made for that climate though - moved south as soon as I graduated from UW.
