49ers/Packers playoff game scores massive record ratings

Sunday’s Green Bay Packers vs. San Francisco 49ers NFC wild card playoff game delivered a massive 47.1 million viewers.

The 49ers victory represents the highest-rated NFL wild card game in at least 25 years on any network (1988 is as far back as the records go for an apples-to-apples data comparison — this could very well be the biggest wild card game ever). Year-to-year, the game is up 20 percent in the ratings (a 25.8 in households) and up 24 percent in total viewers over last year’s match-up between Seattle and Washington. This is Fox’s seventh most-watched non-Super Bowl event ever.
