1. Why do you hate America so much?

I mean, c'mon, 35 years. I was a freakin' teenager when the Triple Crown was last won. This drought is already longer than the one between Citation (1948) and Secretariat (1973)!

Chromie has a blister in his throat and has been coughing this week...too bad, I really like him and his connections and would love to see him win. He still may be good enough to beat this bunch but it'll be tough on him. I expect them to go a blazing first 3/4's with all the early speed in this race. Kid Cruz might be able to drop from the clouds and pickup all the pieces. I want everyone to have a safe trip and I will be pulling for California Chrome because I would like to see another TC winner before I die. It has been a long time since Affirmed. Slainte, Kama!

3. My picks:

1. California Chrome...yes, it's partly a sentimental pick, but also because I think he's the best horse there. We'll see whether he can continue his winning streak, especially back in only 2 weeks, whether the throat issue turns out to be an issue, and whether or not he's reached his limit.

2. Ride on Curlin...who I like the best of all the rest, today and all year.

Most of all, though, I want to see a clean race with all the colts, the filly, and riders returning whole and healthy.
