Kaepernick faces no charges in Miami...

The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office announced Thursday it does not have enough evidence to prosecute Kaepernick, 49ers receiver Quinton Patton or Seattle wide receiver Ricardo Lockette in what was initially reported as a “suspicious incident."
"The complainant's allegations in this matter have been thoroughly investigated," according to the closeout memo.

"However, there is no evidence to indicate that she was the victim of any crime. Because of her altered mental status for the night of this incident, she was unable to provide any testimony to prove that she was sexually assaulted or the victim of any other offense.

"The medical examination of her body did not reveal any evidence of physical trauma. A forensic biological analysis of her rape kit swabs revealed no seminal fluid and her toxicology tests only revealed the presence of drugs that she admitted to consuming (i.e., marijuana) or drugs that were administered to her by medical professionals after she became incoherent."

1. I'm more concerned about the charges in Seattle

One count of felony underthrowing a deep ball.

2. Really..he needs to develop a little more touch on the ball..

You could make the case that with a different QB, or with a more polished Kaepernick, the 49ers would currently be two time defending SB champs.

4. I disagree there

(with a different QB thing)This is addressing likely other options.

Especially regarding the first of 2 years. I don't think SF would have came close as they have with another QB (If Jets had a Kaepernick they would have won like 4 Super Bowls). His yards per attempt was 8.32 and one of the best in the league at throws 15 yards or higher which made them into not only the favorite to go to the Super Bowl but win it. W/ Smith they were simply contenders. In the playoffs in the Green Bay game they couldn't defend his run or pass, making the wrong guesses as to what to defend. Atlanta - they fell behind early but Kaep w/ his 5 incompletions and 11+ YPA they rallied and were able to win. Against Baltimore, they fell behind fast and early. Usually that causes QBs to play worse, taking more risks incurring bigger losses. Pass interference and defensive holding could have been called on the final drive according to the rulebook. I just didn't understand calling multiple rollouts since it condenses the defenses, limits to eligible right side receivers, and cuts the field in half(generally - SMU completed a crazy tip-toe catch on the left side of the back end zone off of a right side rollout in one of the top highlights of the college football season 2 years ago to tie the game to send it to OT in a game they eventually lost).

Second season - Seattle has Kaepernick's number. They intercept him more than all the other scheduled teams do combined. However, rather than play it safe Alex Smith Kaepernick rifled a high pass to Boldin to take the lead but could have been picked off it was thrown lower or w/ more loft. Teams need QBs not afraid to make those throws to threaten Seattle. They would have ate up Alex Smith or possible available free agents and draft options at the position. Kaepernick completed key 4th & 3rd down on the drives, I think the no huddle(they absolutely had to - Vick forced nearly an identical throw off a no huddle in their playoff game against Green Bay) forced them to hurry up and make a decision rather than taking time to figure out the best play to call in that situation.

On edit - we also don't have the benefit of seeing what the play looked like right before the ball was thrown though I suppose you could sign up and pay to watch full NFL games at NFL.com and watch the 11on11(aka game film) camera settings.

5. Kaepernick admitted very recently he needed to improve his reads and decision making ...

that's the difference right there IMO. Had he a little more game experience San Francisco would have won back-to-back Super Bowls.

It's not about touch or the mechanics of passing.

6. I agree a more polished Kaepernick is a better Kaepernick

I was focusing on the other QB thing. Rodgers, Brees, or Manning would be a different story but realistically I don't feel SF could have gone as far as they have without him. I didn't mean imply it was about touch or mechanics - the Boldin throw was meant to show that he wasn't afraid of tight windows and you need a QB like that to succeed as well as moving the ball down-field.

Should he have went a different place w/ the ball? No argument there except I didn't like the decision of the roll-out playcalls which limits the reads and decisions.

3. I wasn't there so this comment may not apply

but high profile athletes need to be aware and avoid this kind of thing. Vast majority of people I've came across in life will take advantage of others regardless of how badly it devastates their life and don't care or they'll feel bad but quickly get over it.

Not only that - even if you do beat the thing or have a situation like Kaep where the accusation didn't progress whatsoever - your name will be tarnished by many individuals who have the mindset (and in many cases there are abuse but lack of sufficient evidence to do anything about it) that because the accusation is there, it is true or otherwise why would they be saying it?

People lie and make up shit unnecessarily about other people all the time. Doesn't make much sense to me(ironically there have been many instances where people didn't believe me when describing behavior of others, usually because they show them more respect)
