No hands. That's the governing tenet of soccer. But Michael Del Lewis found a way to score a goal using nothing but his hands in a recent high school soccer game.
In a match for McKinney Boyd High School outside of Dallas, Lewis launched a throw-in nearly 40 yards downfield and the toss soared into the back of the net. Of course, in soccer, no throw-in can result in a goal unless it touches another player first. Unfortunately for Lewis's opponents, the goalkeeper got a piece of the ball before it crossed the touchline and the result was a notch on the scoreboard for McKinney.
More impressive than the result of the play might have been the manner in which Lewis managed to catapult the ball so far on the fly. The high schooler, who should consider taking up gymnastics in his spare time, executed a perfect flip throw to fire the ball the length of three school buses and past the befuddled keeper....
The game ended in a tie, according to Lewis's Twitter activity, and even someone purporting to be the play's goalie chimed in.
