DeflateGate This: NFL didn’t log the PSI of each Patriots football

What was the precise PSI of each of the 12 footballs the Patriots’ offense used in the AFC Championship Game? We’ll probably never know.

NFL head of officiating Dean Blandino confirmed today that the NFL didn’t log the exact PSI of each football. According to Blandino, when officials inspect footballs to see if they’re properly inflated, they simply approve them or disapprove them.

Makes sense, it's a pass/fail test. Either they're in the legal range, or they are not. trotsky Jan 2015 #1

All of the Colts' footballs were.

All but one of the Pats' were not.

They both played in the same weather conditions, did they not?

Who were doing calculations based on 2psi deflation for various temperature drops, it creates a problem. The pats submit at the low end of the range, the colts submit at the high end. They both drop the same amount, and the colts balls are still compliant while the pats aren't. Except now you don't need a grand conspiracy to explain what happened, and you can create a plausible scenario in which Brady and Belichick weren't doing the evil laugh while letting air out of the balls.
