Anybody a Bowler (No, Not Cricket)

I shot an 801 last weekend. I bowl in a "golfers'" league. Short season that starts in mid December and runs until golf season begins again.

It's early on Saturday & Sunday morning.

On Sunday, i shot 801. 245, 290, 266. Between the 2nd and 3rd game, i threw 15 strikes in a row.

I now know what it means to be "in the zone". On at least 12 of those, i knew it was a strike the moment it left my fingers.

Been bowling, with my own ball, since i was 9. Started throwing a hook at 11 years old, and now i'm 58. Took my 47 years to throw 800. My previous best had been 762.

2. My bowling average matches my golf scores

I'm really decent off the tees, and have an excellent short game, but I can't putt for shit. I can't bowl for shit either.

I discovered my 'zone' when I ride bicycles.

I'm not a bowler, but I grew up (and live) in the Milwaukee area with a pro bowler and owner of two bowling alleys as a close family friend my whole life. He was just inducted into the state bowling hall of fame.

5. No 3's for Me

The 290 is my high. Second time now. I've shot 289 three times as well, but no perfects.

So, you be jealous of my 801 and i'll be jealous of your perfect games. Nice and symmetrical.

threes are 12 strikes.....an 8 is an average of 267 a game....I'll take the 8 thanks
