Peyton Manning Advises Tom Brady: “Just tell everyone your wife deflated those footballs”
BOSTON — It’s been nearly a year since the New England Patriots and quarterback Tom Brady were accused of purposely under-inflating footballs and the story has yet to die — unlike the very recent allegations about Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning and HGH.
But that may change after Manning called Brady today and offered his rival some advice.
Brady confirmed that Manning called him on his cellphone this morning, just days before they are scheduled to meet in the AFC Championship Game, for some advice on how to finally close the book on the “DelfateGate” charges.
“A couple days after the HGH news on him broke, everyone from ESPN’s Tom Jackson to Jim Nantz declared it a non-story, but the stuff about me and PSI is still lingering,” said Brady. “Peyton told me that, first of all, I should claim it was Gisele who wanted to deflate footballs. And, second, I need to imply that anyone who speaks ill of me is likely a Muslim who just wants to bring down an American sports hero.”
Brady told Manning he doubts anyone would believe his wife, a model, would have any reason to deflate footballs, but Manning insisted the public would accept the explanation. “You’re famous and you’re rich,” insisted Manning. “People will believe whatever you say. I mean, I’m a late-30s athlete coming off a bunch of injuries, and the rubes bought that it was just a coincidence that my wife was getting HGH unbeknownst to me at the very same time. If they accept that, they’ll accept a Brazilian supermodel deflating footballs for fun.”
Manning also told Brady that he would offer to say that his own wife grabbed some of the footballs and “’accidentally deflated them with the sheer force of her powerful HGH hands.’ I thought that was really nice of him to offer,” said Brady.
Gisele Bundchen has scheduled a press conference for 1:00 p.m. today to speak about DeflateGate.
