Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was arrested on suspicion of assault Sunday in Michigan, according to court records.

The records reviewed by USA TODAY Sports show East Lansing police arrested Green on a misdemeanor assault and battery charge at 2:28 am Sunday. Green was released on a $200 bond and he's scheduled to be arraigned on July 20 .

“We are aware of news involving Draymond Green in Michigan over the weekend,” the Warriors said in a statement. “At this point, we are collecting information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation.”

Green faces a maximum of 93 days in jail and a fine of up to $500. MLive.com was the first to report assault charge on Monday, citing sources with knowledge of the arrest....

Draymond Green, the Warriors’ All-Star power forward, was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor assault early Sunday in downtown East Lansing, Mich., after slapping a basketball fan who was taunting him at a nightclub, a source with knowledge of the investigation and police there said.

Green, 26, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. after an altercation in the busy business district with numerous bars and restaurants, said East Lansing police Lt. Scott Wriggelsworth. A source close to the investigation told The Chronicle that Green slapped a taunting fan at a nightclub.

The male victim, who was not identified, was not injured, said Wriggelsworth, who would not elaborate on the circumstances of the altercation....

I'll bet the guy was wearing a LeGroin jersey. As you will recall, it was LeGroin's taunting of Draymond that led to LeGrab and the subsequent disaster.

throw in a short fuse and you get this result.

Green (and whoever else was with him) should know he's a target and to run, not walk, from any and all conflict.

BTW ... anger management is your friend, Draymond.

Or his tackle in the series with the Rockets? Fuck Draymon Green. He's a scumbag piece of shit who should have been suspended for either of his first two assaults and then a lengthy ban for the third.

Because neither player has the access to the media, broadcast, print and social, that LeGroin does. He basically shamed the league into suspending Draymond.

He should have learned to take it easy.

He should have been suspended for the Thunder series. He was lucky and frankly so were the Warriors!!!

Any altercation can escalate into something much worse. A guy like him shouldn't be staying out late and getting with the wrong crowd. Hire bodyguards and let them take care of everything. I hope that Steph, Klay, Kevin, etc. have a word with him.
