Manning cleared of doping allegations in documentary: NFL

(Reuters) - There is no credible evidence that future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning used human growth hormone or performance-enhancing drugs as was alleged in an Al-Jazeera documentary, the National Football League said on Monday.

Manning, who retired at the end of last season after leading the Denver Broncos to a Super Bowl win over the Carolina Panthers, had denied allegations made in the documentary that he took human growth hormone while recovering from neck surgery in 2011.

The NFL said in a statement that the Mannings were fully cooperative with the investigation and provided both interviews and access to all records sought by the investigators.

The Al-Jazeera report, released in December, alleged that Manning's wife received deliveries of HGH at their home in 2011 while he was recovering from surgery while playing for the Indianapolis Colts.

The investigation was led by the NFL’s security and legal teams with support from expert consultants and other professionals....

His pregnant wife needed that HGH...proof the NFL is a joke and Manning's worthless scum

2. If the NFL couldn't find any proof in his medical, financial or phone records that he took the HGH

that was shipped to his house under his wife's name, I'm not really sure what the NFL is supposed to do. I'm not surprised they weren't able prove this, as I'm sure they won't be able to prove it for any of the other players named in the Al-jeezera story.

Basically, short of an admission of guilt or getting caught red-handed, this stuff is almost impossible to prove, and the NFL would never damage a player's credibility on allegations that they can't prove.

Dig a little...a pregnant woman doesn't need it. Two of the baseball players names in the Al Jazeera report were subsequently caught...the NFL doesn't want to know, pure and simple.

4. Of course they don't want to know, but this sort of thing makes it really easy to say they couldn't

find any evidence. Sure it looks like something improper could have happened, but they can't PROVE he took it, and they have no incentive to try.

I'm sure they asked for his medical, phone and financial records so they could investigate this properly, and I'm sure Manning was happy to comply.

5. Perhaps Brady and the Patriots shouldn't have destroyed evidence

And shouldn't have refused to provide full cooperation. Of course if they had something to hide, perhaps they took the fine and short suspension because they know they had been cheating for years. Sort of like the Patriots never came clean about the extent of their illegal spying.

Perhaps you might want to educate yourself...naw, too difficult, just keep believing lies and distortions if it makes you happy.

9. He retired very early into the offseason

This was a 6 month investigation according to the NFL which I doubt was a deal at this point though they may have closed the case because he retired.

Considering he was injured and struggled for most of 2015 and won a Super Bowl I doubt the HGH investigation had much to do with his decision to retire.

Since this wasn't released as a 400 page report outlining what they did, and what they found, you really have to take the NFL's word for it.
