UConn women break their own NCAA record with 91st straight win

DALLAS -- Winning 91 in a row -- that's nice.

Now Geno Auriemma and his UConn Huskies can focus on the real goal -- a return to Dallas to play for a fifth straight national championship.

UConn broke its own NCAA record with its 91st consecutive victory Saturday with an 88-48 romp over SMU after scoring the game's first 21 points.

(Snip)

UConn (16-0, 4-0 AAC) broke the record of 90 consecutive wins that Auriemma's team first held more than six years ago. They matched that mark with a 65-point rout of No. 20 South Florida last Tuesday.

. . .i don't care if they're dominant. He's not playing a one and done thing. He has rarely pulled scholarships (if at all), and women get degrees from a good school, and they seem to have pride in playing for that team.

Yeah, i've heard he's a tool, but former players are always going back for reunions with the team (and him) and they seem to genuinely like and appreciate him. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me. They know a heck of a lot more than i do about that atmosphere.

The dominance is a small downside given the positive outcomes.
