Related: About this forumWill it be a Dodgers/Astros World Series?
They are the two teams with the best record in their respective leagues heading into the all-star break.
ESPN has an article about how the Astros and Dodgers are on a collision course:

But, as we know, the way things stand in July does not necessarily foretell how things will turn out in October.
Which two teams do you think will be facing each other in the World Series?

(36,216 posts)and they have a formidable bull pen; I watched them play on Saturday and was impressed. That being said, the Dodgers have been the Giants rival from my childhood so I can't support them. I'm rooting for the Nationals, and to Hell with the American league.

(21,822 posts)My first response was both teams are in the National League. They can't face each other.
Then I realized maybe one changed leagues.
Are the Astros now in the American League? If so, when did they change?
BTW, when I was growing up I was a rabid Yankee fan and knew lots of statistics. My knowledge after 1980 is very spotty.

Since my Phillies are not only in last place but have the *worst record in baseball* at the moment, I'll have to do my (lately) annual ritual of deciding who to root for in the postseason. The Astros have never won the Series in their history (since 1962) so I'm now a fan.

I'll join you with a Go Astros!
