Love to see Roger win and he could but the humidity will be a factor for all of them. I'd be okay with pretty much anyone winning with the exception of Isner the trumpanzee, sexist d-bag Tsonga, or Rafroid.
I think the women's is even more wide open. Interesting first round of Halep v Screamapova. It could be an upset.

(56,177 posts)Murray was two but he just dropped out after the draw was announced so I don't know if th ey moved the others up. The top four remaining are Rafroid, Roger, Alexander Zverev and Marin Cilic. I do think you're right. It wil be one of those four.

(56,177 posts)Sure seems that way,and I think it's because the US Open is on hard surface and is predictable, unlike clay or grass that can vary dependingon how they're maintained and the weather conditions. Those are not a factor with hard courts although I do believe the humidity, which can be unbearable in NY this time of year, can make the tennis balls heavier

(14,074 posts)I'm not sure if he could meet Federer in the final, but I don't think Zverev could win that match.
I'd also like to see Pliskova make the final on the women's side. I think she'd have a good chance against anyone in the final.

(56,177 posts)Maybe Harbin right after her. With the humidity the tournament can really be brutal.
I don't think Roger and Zverev are in the same half of the draw. If Roger makes it to the final I think he'll win because it means he's focused
